SAT Aug 3- Deep Gap Primitive Campground to Plum Orchard Shelter- 11.5 mi

Have breakfast either that we brought or maybe in the restaurant. Shuttle 100 miles (2 hours) to Deep Gap trailhead by AT shuttle driver? Uber? Limo? Hitch-hike? Who knows? 

Join the AT, head South. We will be starting at our highest elevation, and heading 11.5 miles while dropping 1500 ft in elevation. We will stay at Plum Orchard Gap Shelter.

     Drive 540 mi (9 hours) to Amicalola Falls State Park. Stay at lodge . Maybe go ahead and see the falls that night.
  • SAT Aug 9- Stover Creek Shelter to Amicalola Falls- 10.3 mi
     Back to Amicalola Falls State Park via the AT Approach Trail to our room, then on to the nearest IHOP?
